Becoming Neil Patel

Here’s what I learned from writing 300 guest posts:

Lesson #1: Go after a broad audience

Lesson #2: You can guest-post on industry blogs, but don’t do it often

Lesson #3: List posts convert the best

Lesson #4: Use headlines that people would search for

Lesson #5: It’s a numbers game

Lesson #6: Keep your content simple

Lesson #7: Continually find new places to guest-post

Being a marketer
  1. What you want to do is click on the listings of companies that look small, call their numbers, speak with the founders of the businesses, and offer to work for them for free in exchange for knowledge.
  2. The way I would learn from them isn’t by just reading their blog content, but by dissecting their own marketing.
  3. One of the best things I did when I was younger was attend industry conferences. It was one of my best investments—and still is. From Search Engine Strategies to SMX, there were tons of conferences back then, and there are even more now.
